You could say that my career started many decades ago — when I was about six years old. It was then that I discovered my interest in design and color, and started drawing. My love for art grew, so it was natural that I chose to work in the only field that held my interest and passion.

The rest is history —I studied fine arts at the University of British Columbia, and my first job was as an Illustrator at a design studio in Vancouver. A year later we moved to Montreal where I freelanced as an illustrator with advertising agencies, moving on to become an Art Director at the Globe & Mail newspaper, in Toronto.

In 1985 we moved to New York City. In NYC where have held various design positions; On the client side with Scholastic, the AKF Group, American Express, and Wall Street Journal;
On the agency side with The Lohman Agency, Ogilvy Design, RTC Relationship Marketing, RODE Agency, and Pace Advertising.

I founded my studio Muir Design in 1995. I helped many companies develop logos, branding programs, capability brochures, corporate communications, direct mail, and website designs. Recently my interests changed as I closed my graphic design business to dedicate my time on a full-time basis to watercolor painting.
